Hello! It is a great honor to represent Board District 5. As a local mom, a longtime public school educator, and a committed activist for greater equity and social justice, I truly believe that our schools are the heart and soul of our communities. I am committed to working side by side with parents, educators, community groups, and my fellow Board Members to help our students and schools thrive. Every student in Los Angeles deserves a safe and stellar education. My priorities include fighting for programs, curriculum and instruction that supports our most vulnerable populations including immigrant, Black, and LGBTQ+ students and families. I also believe in school and community safety that considers the needs of the whole child and does not criminalize young people, but nurtures environments where students feel seen and heard by the adults that are charged with caring for them and educating them. As a member of the School Climate and Safety Committee, and Chair of the Special Education and Curriculum and Instruction committees, I am seeking to learn about what is most needed in our schools in BD5 and beyond. Community voice and democratic participation are important to me, so I welcome your inquiries and ideas anytime.
